Following the resounding success of the 2023 Waste Hero Co-Campaign, SEAMEO SEPS joined forces once again with Indorama Ventures, Yunus Thailand and our Supporting Partners, namely, SEAMEO Secretariat, SEAMEO INNOTECH, SEAMEO RECSAM and SEAMEO SEAMOLEC in organising the “2024 Waste Hero School Competition”. The primary objective of the Competition, which was launched in May 2024, was to measure the social and environmental impacts and sustainability of the waste management practices initiated by schools that were inspired by Waste Hero Education Resources. A total of 53 schools participated in the 2024 Competition, including 41 schools from Southeast Asian countries and 12 schools from other countries outside Southeast Asia, including Bhutan, India, and Qatar.
Our congratulations go to the following 5 outstanding schools from 5 countries that have been selected as Model Schools in Waste Management Practices.
